The Community Responsibility and Voluntary Work Committee at the Applied College – Female Students’ Branch – organized, within the “Farah” Initiative at Hemmat Center, an awareness lecture entitled “Your Creativity and Innovation Are Vital to Those Around You” on Monday, 28 Sha‘ban 1447 AH, corresponding to 16 February 2026, with the aim of enhancing community awareness of the role of creativity in empowering individuals and serving society.
The lecture introduced the concept of people of determination, as individuals with different disabilities who nonetheless possess strong willpower, determination, and the ability to achieve when a supportive environment is provided. It also reviewed the daily challenges they may face, emphasizing that providing appropriate opportunities contributes to unleashing their potential and achieving meaningful accomplishments.
The lecture discussed the family’s role in supporting people of determination, taking pride in them, and encouraging them at various stages, as the family is the primary nurturing environment for psychological and social empowerment. It also addressed the state’s role in providing education, rehabilitation, employment opportunities, and inclusive environments, stemming from principles of justice and humanity.
The lecture further highlighted the role of society in consolidating values of respect, inclusion, and encouragement, and in taking pride in people of determination as an integral part of the social fabric. It stressed that empowerment and support are an investment in their abilities and contributions, not merely a humanitarian duty.
The lecture concluded by affirming that people of determination represent a model of perseverance and creativity, and that providing a supportive environment enables them to achieve outstanding accomplishments that contribute to community development. Gifts, toys, and refreshments were distributed to this group, with interactive participation in play and fun activities. The Community Responsibility Committee at the Applied College – Female Students’ Branch – affirms its keenness to continue such awareness programs that promote understanding and support the values of inclusion and empowerment.
