Scientific Research

Recently my research concerned on synthesis and characterization of small heterocyclic molecules containing ?-amino acid moieties and their biological applications as antimicrobial and as inhibitors for enzymes. In addition, as a new research trend, synthesis of denderimers containing s-triazine and ?-amino acid moieties and their pharmaceutical application as anticancer drug-nanocarriers.
My Ph.D. title: (Preparation of Biologically Active Peptide Derivatives by Solution and Solid Phase Synthesis) and concerned on:
  • Designing of small molecules containing both triazine nucleus and amino acids.
  • Preparation of biologically active peptides by solution and solid phase syntheses.
  • Biological evaluation of these various systems.
My M.Sc.title: (Studies on the reactions of some substituted phenacyl halides with S-nucleophiles) and concerned on the study of some sulfur compounds from the following points of view:
  • Preparation and structure elucidation by spectroscopic techniques (1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, MS, and IR).
  • Conformational studies of some sulfur compounds based on the spectral data.
  • Electron impact mass spectral studies.
  • Kinetic studies of some reactions of S-nucleophiles.
  • Performing some quantitative structure-reactivity relationships (such as Hammett and Bronsted correlations) to determine the substituent effects on the reaction rates of these compounds.
  • Finally, determination of the structure of the transition state as well as investigation of the reaction mechanism.
