Advanced Ranks for Najran University in Scientific Research and Citation among Arab and Saudi Universities

Najran University achieved advanced ranks among Arab and Saudi Universities. It ranked tenth among Saudi counterparts in number of scientific papers and the third among Saudi Universities and the sixth among the Arab universities in scientific citation. The university also occupied the ninth place among the other Saudi universities and got a place among the best 100 Arab universities according to QS University Rankings: Arab Region 2016.

Vice- Rector of Higher Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Muhammad Sultan AlAssery, explained that QS University Ranking is one of the most three important and influential university rankings worldwide and also the scientific citation standard is one of the most important standards and indicators for the excellence of research activity in any institute interested in scientific research.

He also mentioned that the university, since its establishment, is aware of the importance of scientific research in education and learning and that is why it worked on establishing a special infrastructure including most basics for excellent scientific research.

AlAssery indicated that the university has founded four scientific research centers which are "The Promising Center for Electronic Sensors", "Islamic, Educational, and Humanities Research Centre", "Health Research Center" and "Scientific and Engineering Research Center" and "Prince Meshaal Chair for Endemic Diseases" besides the continual support for research projects during the past seven years that exceeded 100 research papers.
