Duties of the University Vice-Chancellor
The duties of the Vice President for Business and Investment include:
1. Direct communication with counterparts in ministries and government agencies regarding matters within the scope of his work.
2. Direct supervision of the plans of the General Directorate of Human Resources, monitoring their performance and ensuring their improvement.
3. Direct supervision of the plans of the Department of Social Responsibility, monitoring their performance and ensuring their improvement.
4. Supervision of the plans of the Deanship of Digital Transformation and Knowledge Resources at the university, monitoring their performance and ensuring their improvement.
5. Supervision of the plans of the General Directorate of Projects, Maintenance, and Facilities, monitoring their performance and ensuring their improvement.
6. Supervision of university transportation plans and requests from colleges, deanships, and departments for various means of transportation according to work requirements.
7. Supervision of security operations at all university sites, including security for university facilities, property, and personnel, using all necessary means. This includes taking all measures necessary to regulate traffic flow at all university sites, identifying the human resources needs for these operations, and working to develop them. 8. Overseeing the housing management plans for faculty members, those of equivalent status, and staff, monitoring their performance, and ensuring the continuous improvement of their services.
9. Overseeing the university's beneficiary care plans and the services provided to them, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services.
10. Overseeing and monitoring the work plans of the Documents and Archives Center, monitoring its performance, ensuring the development of the center's work in accordance with the directives of the National Center for Documents and Archives, and submitting a report to the university president on the center's activities.
11. Overseeing the university's administrative communications plans and developing them in line with the university's digital transformation.
12. Overseeing the university's investment plans and developing them in accordance with the Ministry of Finance's directives in this regard.
13. Approving the granting of regular and emergency leave to the units under its purview. 14. Recommending the approval of exceptional leave for eligible administrative staff in the departments under his supervision, forwarding the recommendation to the University President, and notifying the General Directorate of Human Resources to complete the necessary procedures after the University President's approval.
15. Recommending the approval of interrupting the annual leave, or part thereof, for staff members of the deanships under his supervision, whose academic or supervisory work, or both, or academic accreditation, necessitates their presence during the summer break.
16. Approving direct purchases not exceeding one hundred thousand riyals, after obtaining authorization from the University President, verifying the financial allocations, and taking into account the jurisdictions of the relevant committees. 17. Approving the signing of contracts not exceeding five hundred thousand riyals within his jurisdiction, after obtaining authorization from the University President.
18. Assigning internal assignments to those whose assignment outside the university campus is necessary for a period not exceeding five days, except for those directly affiliated with the University President, after verifying the availability of financial allocations and submitting the request to the relevant authority for issuance of the assignment decision.
19. Concluding partnership and cooperation agreements with governmental, private, and non-profit bodies and institutions, in a manner that serves the administrative and financial processes and achieves the university's goals and mission, after obtaining the approval of the authorized official.
20. Preparing performance appraisals for the deans of the affiliated faculties and submitting them to the University President.
21. Approving performance appraisals for the staff of the faculties, departments, and affiliated units.
22. Distributing tasks and responsibilities among the deans, directors, and heads of the affiliated entities in accordance with the University's organizational chart and relevant regulations.
23. Monitoring the implementation of the University's second strategic plan and the operational and executive plans of the affiliated entities.
24. Directing the preparation of comprehensive emergency plans for the affiliated entities, ensuring their availability, and monitoring their implementation to guarantee business continuity.
25. Supervising the plans and tasks of the Spending Efficiency Office.
26. In his absence, one of the deputies will act on his behalf, with coordination between them, provided the absence does not exceed five days. For absences exceeding five days, the University President will direct the deputizing party.
