About the unit
This unit is responsible for planning, supervising, and monitoring the academic advising process within the college. All faculty members share the responsibility of providing academic guidance to students, and the unit works in coordination and collaboration with the Guidance and Counseling Department at the Deanship of Student Affairs.
The unit handles the reception and orientation of new students, introducing them to the college and its various departments, and preparing them for academic and university life. It also provides academic, psychological, social, and scientific guidance to students, offers counseling, and supports students who struggle academically as well as those who are gifted. The unit evaluates cases requiring financial assistance from the Student Fund and ensures the protection of students’ rights in accordance with the university’s regulations and policies. Additionally, it promotes a culture of fairness and equity among students, provides necessary consultations, and informs them of their university rights and how to obtain them through proper institutional channels.
