The Najran University Journal of AI & Emerging Computing (NUJAIEC) will operate under

a comprehensive publishing policy that ensures scientific integrity, high academic standards,

and compliance with both Najran University’s regulations and international best practices.

The policy includes the following:

1. Scientific Integrity and Research Ethics:

The journal will uphold the principles of academic honesty and research ethics at

all stages of the publication process. Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts

are original, free from plagiarism, and have not been simultaneously submitted

elsewhere. A similarity check will be performed using plagiarism detection tools,

with acceptable limits defined in accordance with Najran University’s policies.

2. Ethical Compliance and COPE Membership:

NUJAIEC will adhere to the ethical guidelines of the Committee on Publication

Ethics (COPE) and will seek membership in COPE to strengthen its commitment to

ethical publishing. Clear policies will govern issues such as conflict of interest

disclosure, handling of unethical practices, and procedures for addressing

scientific misconduct (including plagiarism, redundant publication, data fabrication,

and inappropriate authorship practices).

3. Peer Review Standards:

The journal will adopt a double-blind peer review system. Each manuscript will be

reviewed by at least two independent experts, one of whom must be external to

Najran University. In cases of conflicting reviewer recommendations, a third referee

will be appointed. Reviewers will evaluate manuscripts based on originality,

methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, contribution to the field, and

ethical compliance.

4. Transparency in the Review Process:

The review process will be timely, transparent, and accountable. Authors will be

provided with constructive feedback, and the editorial team will ensure that decisions

are made based on scholarly merit and not influenced by personal, institutional, or

national bias.

5. Types of Articles Accepted:

NUJAIEC will consider the following types of contributions:

• Original Research Articles – reporting novel findings with significant

contribution to knowledge.

• Review Articles – comprehensive, critical evaluations of existing research.

• Technical Notes – short reports on innovative methodologies, models, or

tools.

• Short Communications – concise reports of preliminary but impactful

findings.

• Case Studies and Applied Research Reports – highlighting real-world

applications of AI and emerging computing.

6. Referencing and Citation Standards:

Authors will be required to follow a recognized referencing style (such as IEEE,

ACM, or APA), consistent with practices endorsed by international academic

societies in computer science and engineering. Uniformity in citation style will be

mandatory to ensure clarity, accuracy, and credibility.

7. Digital Platform and Online Editorial System (OES):

The journal will be hosted on a dedicated online platform integrated within Najran

University’s publishing infrastructure. The platform will provide an Editorial

Manager or ScholarOne that supports electronic submission, peer review

management, author–editor–reviewer communication, and online publication. All

published content will be made available electronically in full text, ensuring easy

accessibility for the global research community.

8. Language of Publication:

NUJAIEC will accept manuscripts written in English, with abstracts published in

both English and Arabic. This bilingual abstract policy will enhance international

visibility while maintaining accessibility for the local and regional scholarly

community.

9. Archiving, Accessibility, and Indexing Preparation:

All articles will be assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) and archived in

reliable repositories to guarantee long-term preservation. The journal will implement

metadata standards to facilitate future indexing in Scopus, Web of Science, and

other international databases.
